Ben Huberman posed this question (and thanks to Barbara Pyett for re-blogging):
You’re embarking on a yearlong round-the-world adventure and can take only one small object with you to remind you of home. What do you bring along for the trip?
My passport weighs just over an ounce. There are millions of refugees in this world who have nothing – no home, no land and no future – so I treasure that small luxury that slips into my pocket and allows me to travel freely. It also reminds me that I have a home to go to at the end of the journey.

Ha ha, in real life I’m often the one most likely to leave her passport in the top drawer!
